PURPOSE:To obtain a transformer having excellent insulation and high reliability by improving the shell type structure using EE type or EI type core and the insulating structure of the transformer, thereby reducing the irregularity in the leakage magnetic flux and the high voltage characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A primary coil and an auxiliary coil for producing a relatively low pulse voltage are wound on a low voltage coil assembly 14, and a secondary coil to become a high voltage coil is wound concentrically on a high voltage coil assembly 24 to form a flyback transformer coil 31. The coil 31 is then inserted into the central magnetic path pieces 33b, 33b' of E-shaped cores 33, 33'. An air gap (g) is formed to avoid the magnetic saturation between the pieces 33b and 33b', and the cores 33, 33' are butted to form a closed magnetic path.
