BACKGROUND ART
It is known that masks are highly efficient products and provide skin benefits such as hydration, moisturizing, whitening, and so on.
Conventional mask products are paste type, peel-off type, gel type, and tissue type. In tissue type category, there exists a new type of “fresh mix” mask, which, upon application, the tissue is mixed with the cosmetic composition. This type of mask is favored by the consumers for many aspects, such as a better stability of skin active compounds, a unique usage experience, and so on. In the usage experience, consumers tend to have more and more demand in terms of transformation during the application of the mask products, such transformation can be, for example, tissue texture transformation, color and odor change, even sound and/or bubble/gas generation.
There are many known bubble/gas generating ingredients. For example in the food industry, pop candy is known to generate gas and meanwhile generate popping sound.
However, the carbon dioxide generation particles are rarely in mask products for providing a desired cosmetic property.
Moreover they are not used in the cosmetic field also because of low humidity resistance.
There is a need for a composition for caring for the skin, which is efficient in the cosmetic properties such as hydration, moisturizing, skin sensory, as well as a unique usage experience like “pop candy” , and easily impregnated with improved solubility and dissolution rate.
In particular, there exists a need for a mask product which, when mixing with at least one wet part, shows an improved solubility and dissolution rate, at the same time, provides good skin conditioning benefit, in particular more hydration and unique usage experience (e.g. tactile or acoustic effect) , more skin comfort feel.

Water-insoluble substrate
For the purpose of the present invention, the term “water insoluble” means that the substrate is not dissolvable in water, nor does it breaks apart upon immersion in water.
The material of the substrate according to the present invention is not limited, and therefore any material could be used for preparing; that is the water-insoluble substrate is all types of cosmetically and pharmaceutically acceptable substrates. Two or more materials also may be used.
The water insoluble substrate is a woven or nonwoven fabric made of a fiber chosen from natural fibers, semi-natural fibers, and synthetic fibers, for example, a woven or nonwoven fabric made of a fiber of the at least one water insoluble alginate solely or together with one or more other fibers chosen from natural fibers such as cotton, pulp, bamboo and cellulose fibers, semi-natural fibers such as viscose rayon fibers, synthetic fibers such as polyester fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polyethylene fibers and polypropylene fibers, or a mixture thereof. Two or more selected from the above fibers may be used in combination.
Alternatively, the material may be a film or sheet made from at least one selected from synthetic polymers such as polyethylenes and polyvinylalcohols, semi-synthetic polymers such as bio-celluloses and alginates, and natural polymers such as polysaccharides (e.g., carageenan and xanthan gum) , mucopolysaccharides (e.g., hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate) , polypeptides (e.g., γ-polyglutamic acid) and proteins (e.g., gelatin and collagen) . The film or sheet may be in the form of a gel or a jelly which may be transparent, translucent or opaque. Two or more selected from the above substances may be used in combination.
The folded sheet according to the present invention may be made of two or more layers. Thus, for example, the substrate shown in Figures 1 and 2 may be a layered substrate comprising two or more stacked layers. If a layered substrate is used, the material of each stacked layer may be the same or different from each other. For example, the layered substrate may be prepared by laminating the above film or sheet made from a synthetic polymer, a semi-synthetic polymer and/or a natural polymer on the above woven or non-woven fabric.
The substrate could be made into a wide variety of shapes and forms such as flat pads, thick pads, thin sheets of irregular thickness, depending on the desired use and characteristic of the mask. The substrate is typically designed to fit the area of the skin to which topical application is desired. For example, when the mask is applied to the face, the substrate is designed to correspond to the shape of the face avoiding the eye, nostril, and mouth areas, as necessary. Nonlimiting examples of the substrates useful in the present invention are described, for example, in the patent application WO 02/062132, or EP 2489286A.
Such water-insoluble substrates or masks with holes, perforation-like lines or cutting lines formed whereon could be obtained by cutting desired holes on the conventional masks that are available on the market. Mentions may be made of the suitable commercially available masks such as NA60RP70 from Beijing Dongfang Dayuan Non-wovens Fabric Co., Ltd. Then by using die-cutting machine ZG-10T from Hangzhou Zhiling Co. Ltd for cutting desired holes on the mask, the water-insoluble substrates of the present invention is obtained.
