Abstract
The invention provides an alternative for the cleaning of combustion gases originating from large coal-fired power plants by means of the generation of non-thermal plasma, which can be used to overcome the limitation associated with effective control of the profile of the puses. The invention is essentially characterised in that it includes a plurality of identical modules (2), each comprising: a dc link (3) which stores power so that it can be transmitted in pulsed form to an output transformer (5); a switch (4) which controls the flow of current through the module (2) in order to create the pulse; and an output transformer (5), the primary of which is connected to the dc link (3) in order to transmit the pulse, and in which the secondaries of the output transformers (5) of all of the modules (2) are connected in series, generating a resulting end pulse that is the sum of the individual pulses from each of the modules (2).
