Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of an inverter by providing the first switch for opening the output terminal of a rectifying circuit at the time of commutating the inverter circuit and the second switch for short-circuiting the inverter circuit. CONSTITUTION:A rectifying circuit 2 is connected to an AC power source 1, and the rectified output is converted by an inverter circuit 3 to the AC voltage of arbitrary frequency, and is supplied to a load 4. When the inverter circuit 3 commutates, the output terminal of the rectifying circuit 2 is opened by the first switches 81, 82, and the second switch 9 connected in parallel with the inverter circuit 3 is closed. Since the increase in the circuit voltage due to the reactance of the load side can be suppressed in this manner without using a smoothing condenser, the size of the inverter can be reduced.
