Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform welding of less generation of splashes through one time of tread operation by first tack welding workpieces through conduction of electricity under large load then performing regular welding under small load when pressing the same with an electrode and conducting electricity in performing resistance welding of the workpieces. CONSTITUTION:Workpieces W1 and W2 are placed on a stationary electrode, and link bodies 32 and 33 are moved by treading a pedal 37 with the foot to exert load 51 with a pressurizing body 29 mounted with a movable electrode 10, thence current 53 is flowed to tack-weld the W1 and W2. Further, the treading of the pedal 37 is progressed until a lever 30 abuts on a lever 19, by which this is moved upward to remove the load acting upon an electrode holding part 3, after which the small load 52 by the compression of a spring 23 is further exerted to the W1 and W2. At the point of this time, a microswitch of an operating part 28 operates to flow current 54 larger than that at the tack welding, whereby regular welding is accomplished. The welding of high quality producing no splashes is accomplished by one time of tread operation of the pedal 37.
