Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of malfunction by a method wherein an influence of a starting current is eliminated by comparing a detecting signal which fluctuates under the influence of the starting current of an electric motor with a reference signal of which signal level is varied through a correcting circuit. CONSTITUTION:An electric motor 1 used for clamping nuts etc. is operated through a control circuit 2 having a soft-start function, and the currents flowing therethrough are detected in a detecting circuit 3 and fed as input to a comparing circuit 6. On the other hand, a correction signal is fed to a torque setting circuit 5 for a fixed time after the start through a reference signal correcting circuit 7 functioning as a timer. The reference signal level of the torque setting circuit 5 is varied by the correcting signal and compared with the output of the detecting circuit 3 in the comparing circuit 6 to effect control of the control circuit 2. Accordingly, since the reference signal varies as shown by curves L1, L2 and may be given values greater than the peak value of the starting current, the malfunction caused by the starting current can securely be removed.
