Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the capacity of a commutation SCR and reduce a commutation loss at time of commutation by dividing a commutation condenser into plural condensers, connecting them in parallel and connecting in series control elements which delay the timing of starting an electric discharge on one condenser. CONSTITUTION:A commutation condenser is divided into two condensers such as C01, C02 and these condensers are connected in parallel. In addition, in series with one condenser C02 of these commutation condensers, control elements, e.g. saturable reactor SAL, which delay the timing of starting an electric discharge are connected. Thus on account of the restraining of an oscillation current peak value at time commutation, it is possible to use an element of small capacity as a commutation SCR and also to reduce a commutation loss at time of commutation. Consequently, the efficiency of a chopper, an inverter, etc. can be enhanced.
