Abstract
PURPOSE: To offer the analog to digital conversion unit enabling the both polarity conversion and less in conversion error due to voltage fluctuation components, by eliminating the necessity of the polarity of unknown analog input voltage for discrimination in advance, with four step integration operation.
CONSTITUTION: The integration circuit 13 first integrates the difference voltage between the reference voltage VREF and the ground voltage VG, and when the integration voltage reaches the threshold voltage Vc, the difference voltage between the reference voltage VREF and the ground voltage VG is integrated for a given period. Further, the difference voltage between the unknown analog input voltage V1N and the ground voltage VG is integrated for a given period, and after that, the difference voltage between the reference voltage VREF and the ground voltage VG is integrated. After the start of this integration, the count circuit 19 counts the clock pulse CP, and when the integration voltae reaches the threshold voltage Vc, the control circuit 18 stops the output of the clock pulse CP to the count circuit 19, which output digital quantity according to the polarity of the unkown analog input voltage V1N and the value.
