TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a current resonance type switching power supply circuit suitable for use as a power supply circuit of a computer, a communication device and the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, with the energy saving of the global environment, various power supply circuits have been required to have higher efficiency and lower noise. In particular, a power supply circuit for a computer, a communication device, and the like is required to maintain a high efficiency even at a low voltage output and to have low noise.
[0003]
By the way, in general, when the output voltage is low, the output current increases when the power consumption is the same. In the case of the DC-DC converter, the resistance loss due to the rectifier diode on the secondary winding side is reduced. It shows a large power loss.
[0004]
Therefore, a current resonance type switching power supply circuit with relatively low noise and high efficiency, and a synchronous rectification method using a synchronous rectifier element such as a field-effect transistor to output the secondary winding side with a low on-resistance are used. A device that obtains a DC output voltage by rectification has been proposed (Patent Document 1).
[0005]
By the way, a power supply that obtains a DC output voltage by rectifying the output of the secondary winding side using a synchronous rectifying element such as a field-effect transistor using a current rectifying switching power supply circuit and a secondary rectifying element such as a field effect transistor. As a circuit for protecting the circuit from overvoltage, the output DC voltage is detected by a microcomputer, and when the detected voltage is an overvoltage, a control signal from the microcomputer is transmitted via a photocoupler to the primary side of the converter transformer. The switching element is supplied to a drive circuit for driving the switching element, and the switching of the switching element is stopped and protected.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as described above, the microcomputer detects that the output DC voltage is an overvoltage, and the control signal from the microcomputer disables the drive circuit that drives the switching element on the primary side of the converter transformer. When the switching of the switching element is stopped, the output DC voltage on the secondary side of the converter transformer is maintained in an overvoltage state, and there is a problem that the load is kept stressed.
[0008]
In view of the above, an object of the present invention is to prevent the output DC voltage from remaining overvoltage when the overvoltage of the output DC voltage is detected and protected.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The current resonance type switching power supply circuit of the present invention alternately turns on / off a pair of switching elements that are half-bridge connected to a DC voltage by a drive circuit, and from a connection point of the pair of switching elements via a resonance capacitor. An alternating voltage is supplied to the primary winding of the converter transformer, and first and second synchronous rectifiers are connected to one end and the other end of the secondary winding of the converter transformer, respectively. The second synchronous rectifying element is turned on and off alternately in synchronization with a signal obtained from the secondary winding, and a middle point of the secondary winding and a connection point of the first and second synchronous rectifying elements. And a current resonance type switching power supply circuit which obtains an output DC voltage between the output DC voltage and the output DC voltage. Overvoltage detecting means for detecting an overvoltage of the power supply circuit. When the overvoltage detection means detects an overvoltage, the first and second synchronous rectifiers are turned on to cause an overcurrent to flow through the primary winding. When the overcurrent detecting means detects an overcurrent, the drive circuit is made inoperative.
[0010]
According to the present invention, when an overvoltage of the output DC voltage is detected, the first and second synchronous rectifiers are turned on, an overcurrent flows to the primary winding of the converter transformer, and the overcurrent detection means When the overcurrent is detected, the drive circuit is deactivated and the switching of the switching element is stopped, so that the current resonance type switching power supply circuit can be protected and the first and second synchronous rectifying elements can be simultaneously operated. Since the output DC voltage is in the ON state, the output DC voltage is not maintained in an overvoltage state, is at the ground level, and safe and prompt protection can be performed without applying stress to the load.
[0011]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an example of an embodiment of the current resonance type switching power supply circuit of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
[0012]
In the example of FIG. 1, reference numerals 1a and 1b denote one and the other DC voltage input terminals to which a predetermined DC voltage is supplied, and the one DC voltage input terminal 1a is connected to an npn-type field effect transistor 2a constituting a switching element. The source of the field-effect transistor 2a is connected to the drain of an npn-type field-effect transistor 2b constituting a switching element, and the source of the field-effect transistor 2b is connected to the other DC voltage input terminal 1b. These field effect transistors 2a and 2b have a parasitic diode.
[0013]
The field effect transistors 2a and 2b forming the pair of switching elements are half-bridge connected to input DC voltages supplied to one and the other DC voltage input terminals 1a and 1b.
[0014]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 3 denotes switching drive circuit control means. The switching drive circuit control means 3 is adapted to generate a switching signal of a predetermined frequency. The power is supplied to the primary winding 6 a of the drive transformer 6 via a series circuit of the resistor 4 and the capacitor 5.
[0015]
A secondary winding 6b and a tertiary winding 6c are provided so that signals having phases opposite to each other can be obtained in the drive transformer 6, and the first switching signal obtained in the secondary winding 6b of the drive transformer is applied to the electric field effect. The second switching signal is supplied between the gate and the source of the transistor 2a and has a phase opposite to that of the first switching signal obtained in the tertiary winding 6c of the drive transformer 6 between the gate and the source of the field effect transistor 2b. To supply.
[0016]
In this case, the pair of field-effect transistors 2a and 2b constituting the switching element performs switching that alternately turns on and off.
[0017]
A connection point between the source of the field effect transistor 2a and the drain of the field effect transistor 2b is connected to the other DC voltage input terminal 1b via a primary winding 7a of the converter transformer 7, a resonance capacitor 8 and a resistor 9 in a series circuit. I do.
[0018]
In the present embodiment, a signal obtained at the connection point between the capacitor 8 and the resistor 9 is supplied to an overcurrent detection circuit 10 for detecting an overcurrent in the primary winding 7a of the converter transformer 7, and the overcurrent detection is performed. When the circuit 10 detects an overcurrent, an overcurrent detection signal is transmitted to the switching drive circuit control means to stop the generation of the switching signal.
[0019]
In the present embodiment, one end of a secondary winding 7b of the converter transformer 7 is connected to the drain of an npn-type field effect transistor 11a constituting a synchronous rectifier, and the other end of the secondary winding 7b of the converter transistor 7 is connected. The end is connected to the drain of an npn-type field effect transistor 11b constituting a synchronous rectifier. These field effect transistors 11a and 11b have a parasitic diode.
[0020]
The sources of the field effect transistors 11a and 11b, which are the first and second synchronous rectifiers, are connected to each other, and the connection point of the sources is connected to the other output terminal on the ground side (common terminal) for outputting an output DC voltage. 12b.
[0021]
An output terminal 12a from which an output DC voltage is obtained through a series circuit of a choke coil 13 and a diode 14 for backflow prevention which forms an intermediate point (center tap) of the secondary winding 7b of the converter transformer 7 as a smoothing circuit. Connect to This diode 14 prevents the output DC voltage from being externally changed.
[0022]
A connection point between the choke coil 13 and the diode 14 is connected to the other output terminal 12b via a capacitor 15 forming a smoothing circuit.
[0023]
Also, a tertiary winding 7c is provided in the converter transformer 7, and one end of the tertiary winding 7c is connected to an electric field forming a first synchronous rectifying element via a series circuit of a diode 16 and a resistor 17 for preventing backflow. The other end of the tertiary winding 7c is connected to the gate of an effect transistor 11a and the gate of a field effect transistor 11b forming a second synchronous rectifying element via a series circuit of a diode 18 and a resistor 19 for preventing backflow. And the middle point (center tap) of the tertiary winding 7c is connected to the mutual connection point of the sources of the field effect transistors 11a and 11b.
[0024]
In this case, currents of opposite phases synchronized with the current of the secondary winding 7b are obtained at one end and the other end of the tertiary winding 7c, and thus constitute the first and second synchronous rectifiers. The field effect transistors 11a and 11b alternately turn on and off in synchronization with the current obtained in the secondary winding 7b, thereby performing double-wave rectification by synchronous rectification between one and the other output terminals 12a and 12b. An output DC voltage is obtained.
[0025]
The field effect transistors 11a and 11b constituting the first and second synchronous rectifiers have low on-resistance.
[0026]
In this example, the connection point of the choke coil 13 and the diode 14 is connected to the other output terminal 12b via a series circuit of the output DC voltage detecting resistors 20 and 21.
[0027]
A detection signal of the output DC voltage obtained at the midpoint of connection between the resistors 20 and 21 is supplied to a non-inverting input terminal + of an operational amplifier circuit 22a constituting the overvoltage detecting circuit 22, and an inverting input terminal of the operational amplifier circuit 22a is provided. − Is grounded via a battery 22b that obtains an overvoltage reference voltage.
[0028]
In this example, when an overvoltage detection signal is obtained from the overvoltage detection circuit 22, the overvoltage detection signal is supplied to the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23. The synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 sets the output terminal of the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 to a high level when the overvoltage detection signal is supplied.
[0029]
An output terminal of the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 is connected to a connection point between the diode 16 and the resistor 17 via a diode 24 for preventing reverse current, and an output terminal of the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 is connected via a diode 25 for preventing reverse current. To the connection point of the diode 18 and the resistor 19.
[0030]
Since the present embodiment is configured as described above, when the overvoltage detection circuit 22 detects an overvoltage of the output DC voltage, it supplies an overvoltage detection signal to the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23, and the output terminal of the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 High level.
[0031]
When the output terminal of the synchronous rectification latch circuit 23 is at a high level, the high level signal is applied to the gates of the field effect transistors 11a and 11b constituting the first and second synchronous rectification elements by the diodes 24, 25 and the resistor. The field-effect transistors 11a and 11b are both turned on, and the electric charge charged in the capacitor 15 is transferred to the choke coil 13 → the secondary winding 7b of the converter transformer 7 → the field-effect transistor 11b → the other. The output terminal 12b is discharged, and the voltage and current between the one and the other output terminals 12a and 12b disappear.
[0032]
During this state, an overcurrent flows through the secondary winding 7b of the converter transformer 7, and an overcurrent flows through the secondary winding 7b, and accordingly, an overcurrent flows through the primary winding 7a of the converter transformer 7. An electric current flows, an overcurrent of the primary winding 7a is detected by an overcurrent detection circuit 10, and an overcurrent detection signal from the overcurrent detection circuit 10 is supplied to the switching drive circuit control means 3, and the switching drive circuit The generation of the switching signal by the control means 3 is stopped, the drive circuit is deactivated, and the switching of the field effect transistors 2a and 2b constituting the switching element is stopped, so that the current resonance type switching power supply circuit can be protected.
[0033]
Further, in this example, at this time, the field effect transistors 11a and 11b constituting the first and second synchronous rectifiers are simultaneously turned on, so that the output DC voltage becomes the ground level, and the stress on the capacitor 15 due to the overvoltage. And stress on the load can be avoided.
[0034]
Further, according to this embodiment, when an overcurrent flows through the primary winding 7a of the converter transformer 7, the overcurrent is detected by the overcurrent detection circuit 10 and an overcurrent detection signal is generated. Since the generation is stopped and the switching of the field effect transistors 2a and 2b constituting the switching element is stopped, a protection component such as a fuse is not required in the primary input power supply line.
[0035]
It is to be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described example, and may adopt various other configurations without departing from the gist of the present invention.
[0036]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, when an overvoltage of the output DC voltage is detected, the first and second synchronous rectifiers are turned on, an overcurrent flows through the primary winding of the converter transformer, and the overcurrent detecting means detects the overcurrent. When the current is detected, the drive circuit is deactivated and the switching of the switching element is stopped, so that the current resonance type switching power supply circuit can be protected.
[0037]
Further, according to the present invention, when the overvoltage of the output DC voltage is detected, the first and second synchronous rectifiers are simultaneously turned on, so that the output DC voltage is at the ground level, and the stress on the capacitor due to the overvoltage is reduced. And stress on the load can be avoided.
[0038]
Further, according to the present invention, when an overcurrent flows in the primary winding of the converter transformer, the overcurrent detection circuit detects the overcurrent and generates an overcurrent detection signal, thereby stopping the generation of the switching signal. Since the switching element is stopped, there is an advantage that a protection component such as a fuse is not required in the primary input power supply line.
