Abstract
1415209 Transformers UNELEC 10 May 1973 [24 May 1972] 22451/73 Heading HIT A core for a polyphase transformer has winding legs 1, 2, 3, radially disposed and formed from stacked laminations, the outer ends of the legs being joined to a yoke 7, and successive layers being disposed so that interleaving at the joints arises. As shown the legs lie in a single plane and the yoke is a regular hexagon of eight laminations per layer, successive layers being rotated by 120 degrees to effect interleaving (Fig. 2, not shown). Hexagons of six laminations are disclosed (Figs. 3 and 5, not shown). Circular or elliptical yokes are also envisaged and the core may be for a six phase transformer. The transformer may be disposed in oil in a tank of circular, rectangular or polygonal section (Figs. 7-9, not shown).
