Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for determining the mass of gas coming from a compressor is sucked in a fuel cell system, the at least one Fuel cell, the gaseous fuel and an oxidizing Gas supplied become.
Durch Verarbeitung der Meßwerte der Sensoren wird der Wasserstoff- und der Sauerstoffausnutzungsgrad berechnet (Patent Abstracts of Japan, Publication Number 610 51 773 A, Patentanmeldung Nr. 591 72 039).Also known is an arrangement for Calculation of the degree of utilization of hydrogen or oxygen a fuel cell. In a passage for the supply of an electrode for hydrogen, a passage for consumed Fuel gas, a passage for the supply an oxidizing gas and a passage for spent oxidizing Gas is a sensor for each arranged the gas flow. By processing the measured values of the Sensors become the degree of hydrogen and oxygen utilization (Patent Abstracts of Japan, Publication Number 610 51 773 A, Patent Application No. 591 72 039).
For the proper operation of a fuel cell is particular under varying operating conditions, an exact dosage of supplied Fuel gas and oxidizing gas required. requirement for one accurate supply of these gases is an accurate determination of the respective gas mass flow, which is sucked in by the compressors. As oxidizing gas is often uses air whose oxygen content with the fuel gas in the fuel cell reacts. As fuel gas is often a hydrogen-containing gas mixture used on the above-described Type z. B. is generated from methanol.
The oxidizing gas and the fuel gas can the fuel cell are supplied under pressure. To increase the pressure of Gases become compressors, z. 8. Blowers and compressors used. As a compressor can Centrifugal compressors are used.
Pouring gases become flow and quantity measured. by rivers are quantities per unit of time and can as volume flows or mass flow rates be determined. Quantities can be calculated by summing flows over time to calculate.
The invention is based on the problem in a fuel cell system with at least one compressor for a the gas to be supplied to the fuel cell to measure the gas mass flow drawn in by the compressor so that influences, which impair the error-free operation of the fuel cell system can, practically not come into effect.
The problem becomes with a procedure The type described above according to the invention achieved in that the gas mass of the compressor sucked gas mass flow in the gas guide channel in front of the gas inlet opening the compressor with a gas mass sensor at a distance from the gas inlet opening of the Compressor is measured at a point where the from the compressor In operation caused uneven flow in their influence on the Operation of the compressor and thus the fuel cell practically negligible is. Practically negligible means that yourself possibly not interfering with the proper gas mass oscillations Functioning of the fuel cell noticeable. Compressors are already developing in normal operation strong vibrations or noises caused by the high Speeds especially in centrifugal compressors and uneven, partially delayed flow arise. Such currents arise z. B. when passing on blades on vanes.
In a preferred embodiment, the gas mass is measured behind a gas filter system arranged in the gas guide channel in front of the gas inlet opening of the respective compressor, which is connected to the inlet opening of the compressor through the elastic suction or gas guide channel. Vibrations caused by the compressor in the flowing gas and propagating into the gas guide channel in front of the inlet opening are damped by the elastic gas guide channel. This is associated with a reduction of unpleasant perceived high-frequency noise emanating from the compressor. In order to achieve as uninfluenced by vibrations or pulsations of the gas measurement, the elastic gas guide channel may be formed so long that virtually no disturbing gas movements on the gas filter system are more present. The gas duct is here to be regarded as belonging to the intake passage of the compressor.
Preferably, the operating voltage of the Gas mass sensor generated by a power supply system, the has a storage battery. The power supply of the gas sensor is independent here from the energy generated by the fuel cell. At startup the fuel cell, the compressor in the starting phase also from a storage battery is powered, the sucked Gas mass flow can be determined immediately.
Appropriately, the measured values of the Gas mass sensors digitized and transmitted to a control unit of the fuel cell system.
In an arrangement for determination the gas mass coming from a compressor in a fuel cell system is sucked, having at least one fuel cell, the gaseous Fuel and an oxidizing gas are supplied, the problem becomes according to the invention thereby solved that a gas mass sensor for the Measurement of the gas mass flow drawn in by the compressor in the intake duct of the compressor or in the gas guide channel in front of the gas inlet opening the compressor at a distance from the gas inlet opening of the compressor at one point is arranged at the caused by the compressor in operation uneven flow in the Intake or gas guide channel in their influence on the operation of the compressor or the Fuel cell is practically negligible. The gas mass sensor is not placed on the compressor, so that the disturbing vibrations, which are caused by the compressor in the gas stream and the in the gas guide channel propagate before the gas inlet and thereby attenuated with increasing distance from the gas inlet, in their influence decrease the measurement of the gas mass.
In a preferred embodiment the compressor is at its gas inlet opening via an elastic, a gas-tight jacket having gas supply or intake channel with connected to a gas filter system behind which in Gasführungs- or Intake duct nearby the gas filter system, the gas mass sensor is arranged. By the elastic Gas duct are the oscillations caused by the compressor in the gas duct in the gas column attenuated. Dependent on from the damping properties of the gas guide channel and its length can the vibrations on the gas mass sensor are so strongly attenuated that they are responsible for the exact Measurement of the gas mass flow are of no importance. The gas guide channel may in particular consist of textile material that has an elastic Coating has. The gas filtration system is at least for the deposition designed by particles in the intake gas stream, so that the pollution of the gas mass sensor avoided by the precipitation of particles which is the measurement accuracy could influence.
In a preferred embodiment becomes the electrical part of the gas mass sensor from a power supply fed, which has a storage battery. The power supply is therefore independent from the fuel cell system and is already working in the start-up phase of the fuel cell system exactly.
In a further advantageous embodiment is the electrical part of the gas mass sensor with a controller connected to the fuel cell system. For example, the gas gauge sensor Participant on a CAN bus.
In particular, this is the compressor sucked gas air. In a fuel cell system with a tank, in which hydrogen is stored under pressure as fuel gas, whose Pressure in front of the fuel cell is controlled by a valve, is enough in the fuel cell system, a compressor for air.
It is particularly favorable if the arrangement according to the invention for determining the gas mass flow drawn by a compressor in a mobile device, such as a car or a boat or a locomotive.
