The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for monitoring an insulation resistance and/or a switching capability of an electrical network isolating device.

- - a power supply unit with a positive voltage potential and a negative voltage potential, comprising a negative voltage potential of zero volts at ground potential of the power supply unit, a supply voltage,
- - a first separating device connected to the energy supply unit and
- - a second isolating device, which is electrically connected in series with the first isolating device to form a isolating device connection node and forms a connection of a network connection point at the connection of the second isolating device that is not connected to the first isolating device.
The invention further relates to a method for monitoring an insulation resistance and/or a switching capability of a network isolating device with such a circuit arrangement.
Damit kann die elektrische Sicherheit der elektrischen Anlage sichergestellt werden (Berührschutz etc.).Grid isolation devices are used in electrical energy supply in a variety of applications, such as photovoltaic inverters, battery-supported stationary or mobile energy supply and other power electronic applications such as motor converters, etc. There is a need to monitor the insulation value between device-internal circuits and the housing or ground potential (PE). This ensures the electrical safety of the electrical system (protection against contact, etc.).
In addition, another safety-relevant function of interest is the functionality of the mains disconnection point or the tie switch of a power electronics unit, which must be monitored.
WO 2021/ 180 747 A1 describes a method for determining the insulation resistance of a photovoltaic system to earth. For this purpose, the voltage required for the measurement is provided in the form of the intermediate circuit voltage from the intermediate circuit of the photovoltaic inverter and the measurement voltages are recorded with the AC isolator open, while the DC input is short-circuited with an input short-circuit switch. This causes the DC link voltage to be applied to the DC input in the opposite direction. The insulation resistance is then determined using the measuring voltage with the voltage divider switch open and closed. The voltage divider contains at least two resistors, with a switch for switching on a resistor of the voltage divider being provided. The voltage divider is connected to a boost switch of a DC/DC converter. When the input short-circuit switch (boost switch) is closed, a first measuring voltage is recorded when the voltage divider switch is open and a second measuring voltage is recorded when the voltage divider switch is closed. The system capacity and the insulation resistance can be determined from the measured values of the two measured voltages recorded or the time course.
Based on this, it is the object of the present invention to create an improved circuit arrangement and method for monitoring an insulation resistance and/or a switching capability of an electrical network isolating device.
The task is solved with the circuit arrangement with the features of
Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass
die Schaltungsanordnung ferner ein Widerstandsnetzwerk umfasst;
wobei ein erster Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerks mit der Netzanschlussstelle verbunden ist und entweder parallel zu der zweiten Trenneinrichtung oder parallel zu einer aus der ersten Trenneinrichtung und der zweiten Trenneinrichtung gebildeten Reihenschaltung geschaltet ist;
wobei ein zweiter Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerks mit dem Trenneinrichtungs-Verbindungsknotenpunkt verbunden ist und parallel zu der ersten Trenneinrichtung geschaltet ist;
wobei ein dritter Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerkes über den zweiten Spannungsteilerwiderstand mit dem Trenneinrichtungs-Verbindungsknotenpunkt verbunden ist;
It is suggested that
the circuit arrangement further comprises a resistor network;
wherein a first voltage divider resistor of the resistance network is connected to the mains connection point and is connected either in parallel to the second isolating device or in parallel to a series circuit formed from the first isolating device and the second isolating device;
wherein a second voltage divider resistor of the resistor network is connected to the isolator connection node and connected in parallel with the first isolator;
wherein a third voltage divider resistor of the resistor network is connected to the isolator connection node via the second voltage divider resistor;
wherein the circuit arrangement further comprises a voltage measuring unit which is set up to measure a voltage dropped across the third voltage divider resistor; and wherein an evaluation unit is connected to the voltage measuring unit or includes it and is set up to determine the insulation resistance and / or the switching capability of the isolating devices from the changes in the measured voltage caused by opening or closing the isolating devices.
- - A resistance network which has three voltage divider resistors is connected to a connection of the mains connection point of the second isolating device, wherein
- - a first voltage divider resistor of the resistance network is connected to the connection of the mains connection point and is connected either in parallel to the second isolating device or in parallel to the series connection of the first and second isolating devices,
- - a second voltage divider resistor of the resistance network is connected to the isolating device connection node of the two isolating devices connected in series and is connected in parallel to the first isolating device,
- - a third voltage divider resistor of the resistance network is connected to the other connection of the second voltage divider resistor, and
- - the other connection of the third voltage divider resistor, which is not directly connected to the second voltage divider resistor, forms a measuring connection,
- - wherein a voltage measuring unit is present for measuring a measuring voltage dropping across the third voltage divider resistor and
This means that compliance with the insulation resistance and the functionality of the switching elements are possible in a simple manner without complex components using only a resistance network having at least three voltage divider resistors, which acts as a multiple voltage divider, and a voltage measuring unit for determining the measuring voltage via the third voltage divider resistor of the voltage divider resistors connected in series of the mains disconnection device. The circuit arrangement is therefore cost-effective, reliable and space-saving.
The energy supply unit can be designed unidirectionally either as an energy-supplying source or as an energy-absorbing sink. However, it can also be a bidirectional energy supply unit that works as a source or sink if necessary.
The power supply unit can be designed for a DC supply voltage. However, it can also be designed for an alternating voltage as a supply voltage, so that the term relating to the supply voltage is not limited to a positive direct voltage potential, but also includes the alternating voltage potential applied to a phase. Accordingly, the term “negative voltage potential” in the sense of the other pole of the DC or AC supply voltage is not limited to a negative DC voltage, but also includes in particular the ground potential of a DC voltage source/sink or the potential of the neutral conductor of an AC voltage source/sink.
The first isolating device can be connected to the energy supply unit directly or indirectly via an intermediate switching unit, such as a bridge circuit.
- a) Messen der Ruhe-Messspannung, die über dem dritten Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerkes abfällt, wenn die Energieversorgungseinheit von der ersten Trenneinrichtung getrennt ist, bspw. indem eine Brückenschaltung geöffnet ist, und alle Trenneinrichtungen geöffnet sind;
- b) Messen der Überbrückungs-Messspannung, die über dem dritten Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerkes abfällt, wenn die Energieversorgungseinheit von der ersten Trenneinrichtung getrennt ist, bspw. indem eine Brückenschaltung geöffnet ist, und eine Trenneinrichtung geschlossen ist, sodass der erste oder zweite Spannungsteilerwiderstand des Widerstandsnetzwerkes überbrückt wird;
- a) measuring the quiescent measurement voltage that drops across the third voltage divider resistor of the resistance network when the power supply unit is separated from the first isolating device, for example by opening a bridge circuit and all isolating devices are open;
- b) measuring the bridging measurement voltage that drops across the third voltage divider resistor of the resistance network when the power supply unit is separated from the first isolating device, for example by a bridge circuit being opened and a isolating device being closed, so that the first or second voltage divider resistor of the resistor network bridges becomes;
- c1) Detecting a fall below a permissible insulation resistance if the magnitude of the difference between the resting measuring voltage measured in step a) and the bridging measuring voltage measured in step b) falls below a predetermined limit value, and / or
- c2) Detecting the inoperability of a selected isolating device if, when the selected isolating device is activated and the connection between the energy supply unit and the first isolating device is disconnected, the difference between the quiescent measuring voltage measured in step a) and that measured in step b) when the selected isolating device is closed Bridging measuring voltage does not change.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to monitor the insulation resistance and/or the switching capability by detecting an increase in the measuring voltage when a voltage divider resistor of the resistance network is bridged by closing a separation point. This takes advantage of the fact that the characteristic of the voltage divider at the unbridged third voltage divider resistor, in which the measuring voltage is tapped, changes by bridging one of the other voltage divider resistors. If there is no change in the measuring voltage when an isolating device is activated, this is an indication that the isolating device is not functional.
The power supply unit can be connected to a bridge circuit, wherein the bridge circuit has switching elements and is designed to provide a voltage potential predetermined by the switching state of the bridge circuit at a bridge circuit node. The first separating device is connected to the bridge circuit node for an indirect connection to the energy supply unit. The bridge circuit can be, for example, a half bridge, a double half bridge, a triple half bridge and the like in order to provide a desired number of connections of a network connection node (e.g. DC+ one DC network, P and N of an AC network, 3xP of a three-phase network) to be connected to the power supply unit.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to monitor the insulation resistance and/or the switching capability by detecting a drop in the measuring voltage to the negative voltage potential of the energy supply unit, in particular zero volts at ground potential of the energy supply unit as a negative voltage potential, if a connection to the negative voltage potential of the energy supply unit is effected Switching element of the bridge circuit is closed. This means that a characteristic drop in a measured resting measuring voltage to zero volts can be used as an indication of the functionality of the switching element of the bridge circuit. The energy supply unit can be connected to a bridge circuit in order to supply the circuit arrangement or the network connection provided with it with energy. In the case of a battery as an energy supply unit, it can also be recharged via the connection provided with the circuit arrangement.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to monitor the switching capability by detecting an increase in the measuring voltage to the supply voltage of the source when a switching element of the bridge circuit that creates the connection to the positive voltage potential of the source is closed. This means that an increase in the measuring voltage to the positive voltage potential of the source is used as an indication of the functionality of the controlled switching element of the bridge circuit.
The insulation resistance can be monitored when the separating devices are open. In the normal operating state, in which power is transferred by closing all isolating devices, no insulation monitoring is carried out.
The insulation resistance is then monitored in the open state of the isolating devices by closing a selected isolating device and bridging an associated voltage divider resistor, so that a voltage difference between the then measured measuring voltage and the previously measured measuring voltage in the fully open state of all isolating devices is determined.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to detect a fall below a predetermined permissible insulation resistance if the amount of the voltage difference between the quiescent measuring voltage measured with the bridge circuit fully open and the isolating devices fully open and the bridging measuring voltage measured with the bridge circuit fully open and only one isolating device closed is a predetermined one Limit value falls below.
This makes it easy to carry out a comparison with a predetermined limit value, for example with the aid of a microcontroller, by actuating a selected separating device and determining a differential voltage (difference between the measuring voltage recorded before and after actuating the separating device). If the value falls below this specified limit, it is then recognized that the permissible insulation resistance has not been reached. This can be applied to monitoring the insulation resistance between the negative terminal of the power supply unit and the protective earth, as well as monitoring the insulation resistance between the positive terminal of the power supply unit and the protective earth.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to detect the inoperability of a isolating device if the measuring voltage does not change when the isolating device is activated. By activating a separating device, an associated voltage divider resistor is short-circuited, so that when the separating device is functional, the measuring voltage applied to the third voltage divider resistor changes.
The circuit arrangement can be set up to detect the inoperability of a separating device if, when the selected separating device is switched, the voltage difference between the quiescent measuring voltage and the bridging measuring voltage is zero volts, i.e. that the measuring voltage does not change significantly.

An (optional) bridge circuit MFB with four switching elements T1, T2, T3, T4 is connected to the positive and negative voltage potential DC+, DC-. A first pair consisting of two switching elements T1 and T2 connected in series is connected on the one hand to the positive voltage potential DC+ and on the other hand to the negative voltage potential DC-, so that the supply voltage U Q of, for example, 40 volts is present in the series connection. The connection point of the two switching elements T1 and T2 forms a first bridge circuit node of the network isolating device. A second pair of switching elements T3, T4 are also connected in series to the positive and negative voltage potential DC+, DC. The connection between the two switching elements T3, T4 forms a second bridge circuit node.
The switching elements T1 to T4 are controlled by the switching signals H1 for the first switching element T1, the switching signal H2 for the second switching element T2, the switching signal H3 for the third switching element T3 and the switching signal H4 for the fourth switching element T4.
The switching elements T1, T2, T3, T4 can be, for example, power transistors (e.g. field effect transistors FET). They can each have a blocking diode D1, D2, D3, D4 connected in parallel to prevent current backflow.
There is an insulation resistance R5, R6 between the positive voltage potential DC+ and the protective earth PE as well as between the negative voltage potential DC- and the protective earth PE. These are the main insulation resistances that are to be monitored with the circuit arrangement and the method.
Furthermore, parasitic effects can occur between the supply voltage DC+, DC- and the protective earth PE, which are simulated in the circuit diagram by connecting the capacitances C1, C2 in series with the respective resistors R7, R8. These can be caused, for example, by insulation material, moisture and air gaps.
These circuit groups R5, C1, R7 or R6, R8 and C2 each represent the isolation network between the network isolating device, in particular the energy supply unit QS, compared to the protective earth (PE, house/system installation).
The DC power supply unit QS forms the energy source/sink connection. This can be, for example, a photovoltaic module, a photovoltaic generator, an accumulator buffer storage and the like.
The first and second bridge circuit nodes each form a center point of the power electronic bridge.
A mains isolating point or a tie switch of the mains isolating device is connected to this. This is formed from two series-connected isolating devices S1, S3 for the first bridge connection node and isolating devices S2, S4 for the second bridge connection node.
A pair of isolating devices S3, S4 each connected to the first and second bridge circuit nodes form a first isolating point Ga.
The following pair of separation devices S1, S2 form a second separation point Gb. The ends of this separation point Gb form the network node for the network connection. For example, a constant direct voltage or an alternating voltage can be present at this network node. This can be, for example, 230 volts of a European low voltage. This supply network can be controlled by the bridge circuit MFB be fed with electricity from the DC voltage supply source Q.
The isolating devices S1, S2, S3, S4 are activated in such a normal operating state in which power is transmitted and are temporarily closed individually or in groups. For this purpose, the control signal G1 for the first separating device S1, the control signal G2 for the second separating device S2, the control signal G3 for the third separating device S3 and the control signal G4 for the fourth separating device S4 are provided.
The neutral conductor N of the network node is connected to ground potential PE (Protective Earth) via a low-resistance protective connection, which is formed with the resistor R4 between N and PE.
Furthermore, a resistance network acting as a multiple voltage divider is connected to a terminal of the network node, here preferably to the neutral conductor N. This has a first voltage divider resistor R1, which is connected on the one hand to an assigned connection of the network node and on the other hand to the connection of the two series-connected isolating devices S2, S4, which belong to the assigned connection of the network node. The voltage divider resistor R1 is therefore connected in parallel to the isolating device S2, which is connected directly to the associated connection of the network node. It is therefore bridged by a closed separation point Gb.
This is followed by a second voltage divider resistor R2, which is connected in series with the first voltage divider resistor R1 and whose other end is connected to the bridge circuit node which belongs to the assigned voltage potential P or N of the network node to which the voltage divider resistor R1 is connected . For example, this is the second bridge circuit node as shown.
The second voltage divider resistor R2 is followed by a series-connected third voltage divider resistor R3, which in the illustrated embodiment is connected to the negative voltage potential DC- of the power supply unit QS. This third voltage divider resistor R3 forms a measuring resistor. The measuring voltage U m falling across the third voltage divider resistor R3 is recorded with a voltage measuring unit V M. This forms the measurement variable used to monitor the network isolating device.
In the same way, a resistance network (double voltage divider) formed from three series-connected resistors R1, R2, R3 can be connected to the upper terminal of the network node to which phase P is applied as the voltage potential of the alternating network voltage. The first voltage divider resistor R1 is then connected to the connection between the two isolating devices S1, S3 in this first mains voltage path. The second voltage divider resistor R2 is then connected to the first bridge circuit node and the third voltage divider resistor R3 is connected to the positive voltage potential DC+.
Even then, the measurement voltage U m is measured via the third voltage divider resistor R3, via which the voltage drops between the first bridge circuit node and the positive voltage potential DC+ of the supply voltage.
The resistance network is formed from a preferably high-resistance resistor chain with resistance values in the range of 1 MOhm in order to connect the voltage potentials at the bridge circuit node, the first separation point Ga, the second separation point Gb and the network node P, N with the monitoring measuring point V M. This means that, depending on the switching states of the power electronic bridge MFB at the bridge circuit node and the mains disconnection point or the tie switch of the mains isolating device, both an insulation change and the switching capability of the mains isolating point or the tie switch, ie the isolating devices S1, S2, S3, S4 as well as the Switching elements of the MFB bridge circuit are monitored.

The two voltage divider resistors R1, R2 are thus connected in parallel to one another and are both connected to the voltage divider resistor R3, which is connected in series, via which the measuring voltage U m is tapped.
If the value for the switching/control signals CTR (control signals) is 0 volts, the respective switching elements that belong to the switching signals H1, H2, H3, H4 and control signals G1, G2, G3, G4 are open. At the value for the control signals CTR of 1.0 volts, the corresponding switching elements are closed. The time t in seconds [s] is plotted on the horizontal axis of the diagram.
In the example shown, five advantageous switching combinations A) to E) and the initial situation F) are shown.
- A) By activating the switching signal H4, the associated switching element T4 of the bridge circuit MFB is closed. As a result, the monitoring measuring point V m is shifted from the initial position in state F) of CTR = zero volts. In the initial state F), all switching elements, ie all switching elements T1-T4 of the bridge circuit HFB and all isolating devices S1-S4 of the mains isolating point or the tie switch are open. In this state F) the system is disconnected from the network and is therefore in a start, standby or similar operating state in which no power is (yet) transmitted and cannot be transmitted.
- B) Only the switching signal “H3” is activated, so that the associated switching element T3 of the bridge circuit MFB is closed. The monitoring measuring point V M is shifted from the initial position (state F) to the supply voltage of the energy supply unit QS, ie, for example, to the direct voltage DC. This is in the
3 to recognize. In the example shown, the direct voltage is 40 volts through the power supply unit QS. - C) The control signal G4 is activated so that the separating device S4 is closed. In addition, the switching element T4 of the bridge circuit MFB is varied in two steps a) and b).
- a) In a first step, only the control signal G4 is activated to close the separating device S4. This bridges the second voltage divider resistor R2 of the resistance network. The measuring voltage U m measured at the monitoring measuring point V M is thereby shifted from the output voltage in state F) to a higher potential. This is due to the change in the characteristics of the voltage divider.
- b) In a second step, the switching element T4 is now closed by activating the switching signal H4. This means that the potential at the second bridge voltage node, which is present between the second and third voltage divider resistors R2, R3, is shifted to the supply voltage of the energy supply unit QS, which is present there at the negative direct voltage potential DC-. This is usually a voltage potential of zero volts.
- D) The control signal G4 is activated so that the associated separating device S4 is closed. In addition, the switching element T3 of the bridge circuit MFB is varied in two steps a) and b) by deactivating/activating the switching signal H3.
- a) In the first step, only the control signal G4 is activated in order to close the separating device S4. This bridges the second voltage divider resistor R2 of the resistance network. The measuring voltage U m tapped at the monitoring measuring point V M via the third voltage divider resistor R3 is shifted from the output voltage in state F) to a higher potential.
- b) In a second step, the switching signal H3 is activated to switch the switching element T3 of the bridge to close the MFB. This shifts the potential at the second bridge circuit node to the positive voltage potential DC+ of the power supply unit QS. In the example shown, the direct voltage is 40 volts.
- E) Only the control signal G2 for closing the separating device S2 is activated. The switching signal H3 remains active and the switching element T3 of the bridge circuit MFB is closed.
- a) If only the control signal G2 is activated to close the isolating device S2, the first voltage divider resistor R1 of the resistance network is bridged. The measuring voltage U m tapped at the monitoring measuring point V M via the third voltage divider resistor R3 is thereby shifted from the output voltage in state F) to a higher voltage potential.
In a normal operating state in which power is transmitted, at least the isolating device S1, ..., S4, i.e. the isolating points Ga, Gb, are closed. In this state, insulation monitoring cannot take place.
The current insulation resistance of the system can now be deduced from this initial state or another selectable state via the voltage difference between the states A) to F) described above.
It becomes clear that with a very low insulation resistance of 10 ohms, by activating the switching signal H3 to close the switching element T3 of the bridge circuit MFB, the measuring voltage U m increases to the supply voltage DC+ of 40 volts. In the remaining switching states, the measuring voltage U m remains at the low voltage potential DC- in the range of zero volts.
With increasing insulation resistance R ISO, when changing in steps a) and b) by closing either the switching element T4 or T3, a potential shift in the measuring voltage U m can be measured, the level of which depends on the insulation voltage. This voltage difference ΔU is a parameter that indicates the size of the insulation resistance and, accordingly, the functionality of the controlled switching elements, in particular the isolating devices S1, S2, S3, S4.
The circuit arrangement has an evaluation unit μc, such as a suitably programmed microcontroller or microprocessor or a comparator. The evaluation unit is set up to compare the detected voltage difference ΔU with a limit value U limit . The limit value represents a value for the minimum permissible insulation resistance.
In addition, the evaluation unit can be set up to detect whether the associated characteristic potential shifts occur when switching signals H1, H2, H3, H4 are activated. This applies not only to the voltage difference ΔU shown, but also to the potential changes when activating the switching signals H1 to H4 for the switching elements T1 to T4 of the bridge circuit MFB.
With an insulation value of 100 kOhm, a voltage difference of, for example, 1.75 volts in the first step a) and 1.18 volts in the second step b) can be determined. These are steps a) and b) in the previously described states C) and D). But such characteristic potential changes can also be observed when changing between states A) to F). These lead to a voltage difference ΔU of 0.56 volts.
With an insulation resistance value of 14 kOhm, for example, a voltage difference of 0.27 volts can be determined in step a) and 0.18 volts in step b) at the lower measuring point. This leads to a voltage difference ΔU of 0.09 volts.
Depending on the applicable laws, standards and designs, a voltage difference value for the (minimum) permissible insulation of the system can be set and monitored.
In the exemplary embodiment outlined, with a minimum permissible insulation value of 100 kOhm, the voltage difference value of 0.56 volts at the monitoring measuring point V M could be set as the lowest permissible limit value. Accordingly, a voltage difference ΔU of <0.56 volts, as in the second example with the insulation value of 14 kOhm with ΔU = 0.27 volts, would no longer be permissible. The evaluation unit could ensure a secure blocking of the mains isolating device by the circuit arrangement.
By testing the voltage difference ΔU to a minimum value depending on the switching states, the switching capability of the tie switch can also be checked with the isolating devices S1, S2, S3, S4 and the associated isolating points Ga, Gb. For this purpose, the separating devices S1, ..., S4 are each activated and deactivated in the test run.
If the switching elements switch correctly, one of the two voltage divider resistors R1 or R2 of the resistance network is bridged and a measurable voltage change ΔU can be checked depending on the switching states.
If the switching elements do not switch as intended, the voltage at the measuring point would not change and the voltage difference ΔU would result in zero volts. This can be used by the circuit arrangement and in particular the evaluation unit to ensure that the mains isolating device is blocked or not switched on.
The illustrated connection of the resistance network with the associated method can also be used analogously for monitoring the insulation resistance R5 between the positive voltage potential DC+ of the power supply unit QS and the protective earth PE. For this purpose, another resistance network can be connected to the other connection terminal P of the network node and connected to the first bridge circuit node and the positive voltage potential DC+. Accordingly, it is also possible to check the functionality of the switching elements T1, T2 of the bridge circuit MFB and the isolating devices S1, S3 for this voltage potential path.
For the case, not shown, of a network node having further connections, for example a three-phase AC network, there can be a series connection of separating elements for each connection (i.e. for each phase), each of which can be monitored by a resistance network of the type described above. A single resistance network can also be provided, which is optionally connected to the potential path to be monitored.
For a DC voltage network, a series connection of separating elements for the positive voltage potential would be sufficient. For a DC voltage network, a half bridge can (optionally) be available for connection to a power supply unit.
For the single-phase alternating voltage network shown, the two series circuits of separating elements and (optionally) the two half-bridges of a bridge circuit MFB can be present for connection to a power supply unit.
